So when did it all begin? On 27th April 1984 the very first SEAT Ibiza rolled off the production line in Barcelona’s Zona Franca factory. A collaboration between SEAT, the Italian designer Giugiaro, Karmann and the prestigious German sports-car manufacturer Porsche, this car revolutionised the SEAT brand.
Ambitious, dynamic and ground-breaking. This was a car that truly identified Spain of the 1980’s - reinforced by its evocative name and Spanish roots. Sporty, stylish and ever-evolving, it’s easy to see why this car is such an icon.
The SEAT Ibiza soon became a worldwide hit. In fact, it’s the most exported car in the company’s history – with around 3.5 million units reaching more than 75 countries.
For three decades, the best-selling SEAT Ibiza has remained in the top spot now reaching almost 5 million in sales. Long may its reign continue. Happy birthday to the SEAT Ibiza.
